Go behind the scenes at Cream o’ Galloway with the Farm and Creamery Tour, which takes place on weekends and UK school holidays at 2.45pm.
You'll start with a visit to the Viewing Gallery overlooking the ice cream and cheese factory. Then you'll take a walk around the farm buildings, hearing about Rainton’s history and the things that keep us busy today, including our commitment to 100% cow contentment and how we're generating green energy from slurry! This is just one of the reasons why our business holds a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme http://www.green-tourism.com/visit/cream-o-galloway-dairy-co-ltd/listing....
On this tour you'll see lots of other things we do to 'reduce, reuse and recycle' and how we're trying to be as sustainable as possible in how we manage our farm.
You'll see our new milking parlour and at certain times of year we will also introduce you to our new calves and lambs.
The route is suitable for those with buggies or wheelchairs. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
The tour lasts around 90 minutes and is popular with all age groups. Cost is £5.50 per adult, £4.50 for children aged 3-15 and booking is strongly recommended. http://www.creamogalloway.co.uk/visitor-centre/buy-tickets
