What is lurking beneath the water of the Cream o’ Galloway ponds?  Discover the underwater wonderland in Cream o’ Galloway’s purpose built wildlife pond.  Learn about the amazing lives of the creatures who lurk there and hunt for their cousins in the rocks and plants around the pond.

Armed with pond nets, plastic trays and picture charts we’ll go on an underwater adventure.  Working in pairs or family groups you’ll swish your net in the pond and decant it into your tray, creating your very own mini pond where you can easily watch the water creatures.  The Cream o’ Galloway wildlife experts will be on hand to help you identify the creatures in your mini pond.  Common finds are water boatmen, water scorpions, pond skaters, dragonfly and damselfly larvae and pond snails, and if you’re lucky you might catch a smooth newt or a frog in your net!

Dipping is suitable for anyone aged around 5 years or older and you’ll spend around 45 minutes at the pond.  The cost is £3 per child, adults go free!  Booking is strongly recommended, call 01557 815 222 or email us to check availability.
