Food for Thought Lunches

alt
2012 sees the launch of a brand new event at Cream o’ Galloway:  ‘Food for Thought’ lunches.

A monthly series of events to include lunch will be hosted at the Cream o’ Galloway Visitor Centre. Themes will include Rainton Farm itself, cookery demonstrations, ice cream making and local wildlife.

'Food for Thought' lunches will be held on the following dates 27th April, 25th May, 29th June, 7th September and 5th October.

There has been a good deal of interest in the innovative new dairy development at Rainton farm, where Cream o’ Galloway is based, and its impact on food production, so the first event in the series will take the form of a farm walk around Rainton, followed by a warming lunch using beef reared on the farm.  The walk will be a fascinating insight into the future plans for the farm and the desire to have the highest possible standards of animal welfare, environmental husbandry and sustainability.  (There will also be the chance to cuddle some lambs and meet the young calves!)

Lunches will be prepared using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and the aim is to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.

The cost will be £12.50 per person to include tea/coffee and shortbread before a talk or walk followed by lunch and a second tea or coffee to finish.
