The Smugglers’ Warren and the Under 6’s Pirate Play are our two indoor play areas located at the back of the Burger Barn.  They were created and built by our farm staff in 2007 and are completely unique! 

Did you know that the Solway coastline near Cream o’ Galloway was once a smugglers’ paradise?  The caves and coves along the coast giving the smugglers plenty of places to hide their illicit goods! 

 

The Smuggler’s Warren

The Smugglers’ Warren is a multi-level indoor adventure area comprising chutes, tunnels, ladders and hidey-holes.  The Warren is located at the back of our Burger Barn behind a glass partition, so you can keep a watchful eye on your offspring while enjoying a coffee or a bite to eat. But of course we heartily recommend that grown-ups join in the fun, and it’s not unknown for parents to outlast the kids as they re-live their childhoods!

Pirate Play

Although younger children are very welcome throughout our play facilities, we know it’s sometimes nice to get respite from those noisy older kids!  The under 6s’ Pirate Play area is perfect for this. It’s an adventure play area in miniature, including rope-bridge, scramble tunnels, a chute and a soft corner for toddlers. This area is right next to the Smugglers’ Warren at the back of the Burger Barn, and is behind a glass partition giving a clear view of your littlest ones as they dig, tunnel and climb. As ever, parents and guardians are encouraged to join in the play – after all, what fun is it to go down the slippery slide if there’s no-one there to witness your bravery!
